Crystal’s Custom Confections was started in June of 2005 and has been an adventure I have enjoyed immensely.
All custom cakes and large orders are done to
order. This just means it’s best to plan your dessert in advance. Wedding cakes can be booked anywhere from 18 months to days before the
date as long as the reception location is nailed down and I am available.
Cupcake and special occasion cake orders should be booked 5 days in advance.
Rush orders are sometimes accepted as long as I am not booked up.
Wedding Cakes can be booked as far as 18 months in advance. Because I am a small business, my weekends tend to fill up quickly. It is best to plan your cake tasting according to the season of your wedding. Remember the popular months of May – October and know that I can fill up as far as 4-6 months in advance.
Special Occasion Cakes & Cupcakes
Special occasion Cakes & Cupcakes (i.e. birthday, anniversary, and showers) should be ordered 5 days in advance. If I am not booked up I can take last minute orders, preferably at least 3 days in advance.
My interest in Cake Decorating began in 2005 when I took a Wilton Cake Decorating class at a local craft store! After completing all three courses, where I basically just learned the fundamentals of cake decorating, I was asked to teach the classes. Knowing I had never decorated a cake before in my life I was quite surprised I was asked to be the teacher. Needless to say I decided to go for it and became a Wilton Method Instructor and began teaching the classes one month later. Come to find out I was a natural and truly love every second I’m in the kitchen baking, decorating, and creating special occasion, custom made confections. In addition to teaching Wilton Cake Decorating classes I began doing cakes on the side for friends and family. I began with birthdays and graduations and slowly moved to other occasion cakes such as showers, anniversaries, and sometimes just because cakes. Over the past 11 years I have become a self-taught decorator and have accumulated a small customer base which continues to grow. There is so much to learn and so many new techniques in the designs of the cakes I create, the possibilities are truly endless.
I have my hands in every aspect of the creation of your cake. I love to create beautiful, fun and crazy designs for my customers. I like to think I can do almost anything a client desires however I know my limitations and can help your dream cake become a reality.
I have really enjoyed starting my cake business and love having something I can call my own. Being a part of someone’s happiest day is really exciting. I love what I do. I hope that I can be a part of your
